He Doesn’t Change

I have been fearful that I’m not going to fulfil the purpose God has for my life. It is as though there is a wrong path and a right path and I have to figure out which path is right…

I fear…

  • That I have messed up my life.
  • That I will buy a bad house that eats all the money that we don’t have.
  • That I am not doing what God wants me to do.

But I am realising: He is the one that does the work.

God is the one who fulfils my purpose.

I don’t have to strive to hear God.

I don’t have to strive to be obedient to God.

God makes it clear which way I should go; if I simply devote myself to Him.

I can call on Him – His word is the light unto my feet. (Psalm 119: 105, ESV)

He doesn’t change.

Don’t worry about figuring out exactly what you should do, He wrote a book about what you should do!

Just be faithful. Be faithful to loving yourself, loving others, loving Him.

That is what you were born for. You were born to worship. You were born to adore and be adored.

You are held.

You might lose all your finances.

You might lose your job.

But you will never lose God.

He is always with you, holding you. (Psalm 139: 5, NIV)

Even if you run from Him, He chases you down. (Luke 15, 1-7, NIV)

Even if you are afflicted, He works all things together for your good. (Romans 8:28, NIV)

He cares about your heart more than he cares about your job, your money, where you live, what you possess.

He is after your heart. Your whole heart and nothing else.

You are already successful.

If He wants you to write a book, He is the one that will make it happen at the right time.

If He wants you to start a business and give your profits away to the poor – it’s not by your own strength, but according to His will.

He is a good Father and He will never ever put you in a situation that you can’t handle.

His timing is perfect.

So if you are not there yet, trust that He’s preparing and protecting you.

If you are not at the promise yet, trust that it’s not the end.

Remember: He works all things together for your good. (Romans 8:28, NIV)

Learn how to seek first the kingdom of God, in the chaos.

Despite the unfulfilled circumstances around you, be faithful.

You will never get another chance to worship Him in this moment, with these unfulfilled promises, with these question marks over what job you’ll do, where you will live.

Don’t wait until the end to praise Him because He has a feast for you right now.

Don’t miss out on the food He is giving you for this season, in this moment.

He wants to satisfy you now: even in the waiting.

He wants to fill you to overflow this second, even though you are sitting in the midst of the unknown.

Though you can’t strive to know what will happen to your house, your family, your job, you can rest in the arms of the Father and get to know Him.

Believe it or not, there are some things you will miss about this season of your life.

Get to know Him now, enjoy what He has for you now.

Praying for you, as always.
